Thomas Boehmer
I am a runner since 1985 after not having been very active in the field of sport before, and since then it’s the Joy of Running, which is most important for me.
I did a lot of races in the eighties and nineties, many Marathons, but what I liked best was running outside in nature, the 100k in Biel/Switzerland or the Swiss Alpine Marathon in the Alpes.
After having a training in Running Therapy in the nineties I started working as a running teacher with all kinds of people (beginners, depressed people, others who suffered from cancer), which was a very satisfying experience because of the benefits people gained from this.
Later I combined running with meditation or better: tried making running happen as a meditation, which also works quite well.
But although I studied various ways of running, learned something, all the time there was a deep feeling of: Running could be more than what I am experiencing and teaching. Besides that for many years I had the impression of some strong stiffness around my hip region, something which happens to many runners, but was getting worse over the years. So, when I got acquainted with ChiRunning in April 2010, from the first moment I had a feeling of: “This is it!” Immediately I signed up for the next ChiRunning Training and now I‘m very glad being able to work as a Certified Instructor.
