Security and Privacy Policy

We have created this security and privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your information.

At ChiRunning®.com, we ensure a secure on-line credit card transaction with the most advanced technology and respect your personal privacy. We will never release your name, street address, telephone number or e-mail address without your consent. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide a more personalized shopping experience.

Our Return Policy

If you are unsatisfied with any product you bought from ChiRunning®, you can return it within 30 days after delivery and we will reimburse you for the full price of the product you ordered. Returns must be approved with return authorization. All items must have an RA# and be received in a new, unused and ready-to-sell condition (including all original packaging, products, and paperwork) to receive a refund. If the products you return are in a condition other than ‘new’ we will not be able to issue a refund. If you have questions about this policy, please call our office for clarification.

When making a return, make sure to include the order invoice (or a copy of the invoice) that came with your order and please notify us that you are returning the item by e-mailing us using this contact form. We will reimburse you via the payment method that you initially used to pay for the item. Refunds may take 1-2 weeks from the receipt of the return to post to your account.

If you return a product because you changed your mind and no longer want the item or because you made a mistake in ordering then we will refund you for the cost of the product (less shipping and sales tax) but you will be responsible for the return shipping. If we made a mistake in what was shipped to you or if the item is defective then we will refund you for the full cost of the product (including shipping and sales tax). If you would like to exchange the product for a different title/copy please state that when calling/emailing for return authorization.

If the product is returned to us undeliverable (wrong address or insufficent address) or delivery is refused, we reserve the right to charge shipping for the products return and we may charge for shipping it back to you.

For orders of downloadable titles we do not issue refunds, unless you are having an issue with the download or you have a valid reason for needing a refund. For questions on refunding orders of downloadable titles please email us using this contact form.

You may place your order over the phone toll-free at 828-252-9828 or toll-free at 866-327-7867 or via fax at (828-252-9829) during customer service hours: Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm Eastern time. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Information we Collect

In designing our website, we started with the simple belief that customer service is our number one priority. Therefore the customer information we collect is used to enhance our services to you, our customer. Specific areas from which we collect data include:

Membership

Prior to checking out, we ask our customers to become a ChiRunning.com Member. To ensure easy shopping and timely product delivery we ask for shipping information including your email address and phone number so we can quickly communicate with you about the status of your order. Additionally, we may ask for limited demographic information which enables us to continually update our site to better meet the needs of our members.

E-mail Newsletters

We give our members the option to sign up for our email newsletter. To sign you up we need an e-mail address and ask for the state in which you live to determine where to hold workshops and to inform you of events in your area. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.

Sharing of Information

ChiRunning®.com protects account information against unauthorized access or release. We will not give, sell, rent, or loan any identifiable personal information to any third party, unless the customer has authorized us to or we are legally required to do so. Additionally, we do not share the buying habits of individual consumers. We may share aggregate customer data with selected manufacturers and advertising partners. Promotional emails only go out to customers who have indicated they wish to receive them and customers may elect at any time not to receive any further emails. You can unsubscribe from receiving the newsletter or any promotional emails.

Third Party Intermediaries

To complete credit card transactions, ChiRunning®.com provides the following member information-using secure communications-to Authorizenet, the intermediary credit card processing company we use: name, billing address, credit card number, expiration date, and the amount of the transaction. ChiRunning®.com shares shipping information with intermediary shipping companies including but not limited to UPS, USPS, Airborne Express, and DHL.

Notification of Changes

In the event that ChiRunning® should change its privacy practices or start using member information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will send email to our members notifying them of the changes, explaining the reasons and allowing them the opportunity to accept the changed policy, or demand exemption from it.
