Elizabeth Frost, Director of Marketing and Product Development

Elizabeth FrostWhen I started at ChiLiving, triathlons had been my greatest physical and mental challenge, mostly because running was difficult for me. A few years ago, I convinced my younger sister to complete the running part of a Denver-area Tri for the Cure—we must make a good team because we earned first place in the relay division! Now that I'm a member of the ChiCommunity and a Certified ChiRunning/ChiWalking Instructor, I can safely say that running is awesome and I find it liberating, affirming and fun.

Working for ChiLiving has provided me the opportunity to exercise my creativity, independence and drive. Everyday is a new day, everyday brings its own challenges and successes. I am honored to work for such a unique and important company with a fabulous team of coworkers.

In my free time, I love to read, travel, cook, hike, camp and take my dog running and walking. Salsa dancing, motorcycle riding and running have gracefully entered the ranks of my favorite things to do since moving to Asheville.

Nicole Darsey, Director of Events and Instructor Programs

Nicole DarseyI am fortunate to able to merge my passions and skills into my position here at ChiLiving. I am responsible for all aspects of ChiRunning and ChiWalking Instructor Programs, ChiLiving Corporate Events and Public Relations.

As a member of the ChiCommunity, I am inspired daily by the emails and phone calls we get from people all across the world who have changed their lives with ChiRunning and ChiWalking. Working with others to help manifest our best lives possible is a very powerful part of my personal journey.

When I’m not at ChiLiving, I enjoy working as a massage therapist, reading, learning, hiking, exercising and great live music. Asheville has so much to offer and I’m thankful for being in such a beautiful place, on this great team and in such a fulfilling position at ChiLiving.

Shelly Schmidt – Office Administrator

After leaving the Chicago area and traveling the world a bit, I’ve landed in beautiful Asheville, NC with a better job than I could have imagined. Needless to say, I’m a grateful gal! At the end of a day’s work at ChiLiving, I feel valued because I know that I’m helping to make a difference in the lives of those who want to reach their health and fitness goals, improve their running abilities, or learn to run pain and injury-free. Everyday here is unique with projects and opportunities, without a dull moment in sight!

While I have always been active, I have never taken on running as a sport, and have always viewed it as simply a way to get fit. I now have a goal of running a half-marathon in 2010, which I am certain I will be able to accomplish with some Gradual Progress.

Since arriving to Asheville in October of 2008, I’ve been enjoying its eclectic music, art, microbreweries, restaurants, and surrounding nature. I take pleasure in hiking, trail running, yoga, camping, reading, dining and relaxing with friends, and (whenever the snowy opportunity arises) snowboarding.

Jeff Carnivale - Customer Service and Order Fulfillment Manager

Born without much fanfare decades ago and given a name that every fourth male of his generation shares by his less than creative parents, Jeff grew up in drab small town New England, artless and cold. Jeff eventually attended a small New England Liberal Arts college, that turned out not to be so liberal or artsy for that matter.

Jeff’s life was given a fighting chance when he studied (used loosely here) abroad for a semester during his junior year. In London, he fell for a drama student, worked at a pub, traveled, gained a love and appreciation for the beautiful game, and began to shake out of the narrow mind-set of small town New England.

After earning a degree, Jeff set out for warmer climates, spending winters in Texas, Arizona, California. A year in Europe and the Middle East was followed by some more time in Texas and Mexico. The number of jobs by this time far out-numbered his years: housekeeper, volunteer on a Kibbutz, retail (ugh), ESL teacher, warehouse manager – a stream of work that made him a blue collar renaissance man.

Jeff has now lived in Asheville for 9 years. When he's not processing customer orders or responding to abundant emails and phone calls for ChiLiving, Jeff concentrates on fitness as a personal trainer, pilates instructor, and cycling instructor. Oh, and he runs marathons, too.
